The Chiefs organization is a small team of discipline experts whose primary responsibility was to ensure the best practices across the company were shared and implemented. This role served to help link all three drilling teams across the organization through knowledge forums, training and technical assistance. A unique part of this Chief role was also managing Encana’s GIS team to help solve different geospatial problems for the company and facilitate pre-planning for large capital programs.

This was an integrated cross border role which involved managing the drilling services and OCTG portfolio across Encana focusing on maximizing value and minimizing risk. My team actively managed all major services such as drilling rigs, directional services, drilling fluids, etc, for Canada and the US ensuring that the appropriate contracts were in place and we did this with an integrated team approach. Our responsibility included procurement and management all of the line pipe, casing and tubing for the corporation working with both mill direct and distributor models.

Worked in what is now called the Central Operations Area for Encana, specifically focusing on the Duvernay formation. My primary responsibility is to focus on the wellbore design and construction, striving to reduce costs and optimize the well for completion and production operations. New technology interests me and so I seek opportunities to explore ways of incorporating this to make operations more efficient. A very rewarding portion of my role is being able to mentor staff and be a part of the growth and development of the Duvernay drilling team.

Lead a team of technical professionals planning, designing and executing a range of drilling operations across Encana's land base in South and Central Alberta. Encana's Clearwater business unit is responsible for the development of it's coal bed methane resources, shallows sands and many oil targets such as the Belly River, Viking, Glauconite and Basal Quartz. The development of these resources requires a varied tool box of vertical, slant and horizontal drilling to minimize our footprint and maximize our returns.

Acted as an operations engineer for the Canadian Deep Basin Business Unit focusing on the Red Rock area and it's stacked cretaceous play in the Western Canadian sedimentary basin. Executed programs for plug and perf stimulations in Encana's deep directional wellbores as well as open hole packer and CobraMax sand plug stimulations in extended reach horizontals.

Performed as a drilling engineer for the Canadian Deep Basin Business Unit, planning and executing the drilling of vertical, deviated and horizontal wells. Worked from Rocky Mountain House to Grande Prairie on single and multi-well pads both designing the wellbores and providing onsite wellsite supervision. Work on exploration projects with Encana to help unlock new plays such as the Duvernay.
