Ryan leads Product Innovation for BLPT (Banking & Lending Products Technology). Focusing on bringing new capabilities into the bank, he supports and helps drive the acquisition or development of innovative products and technologies, both interally built or acquired from 3rd parties. Ryan describes his role as, "Connecting all of the dots between business leaders and technology leaders, development teams, architecture, and our current and potential vendors". Almost 29 years ago he started his career at Bank of America (formerly MBNA) in Collections, and has supported countless and complex efforts across the bank including Collections, Recovery, Fraud and all banking products from Credit Card and Deposits to Loans and Mortgage and Investments. He is a strong proponent of Agile development, prototyping, iterative delivery, and empowering leaders, all as tools in the development process. He was critically involved in Bank of America's response to the Covid crisis supporting the America Cares Act, solutioning for the Paycheck Protection Program and the development of an end-to-end platform supporting forgiveness of those loans. Ryan is inherently an innovative problem solver. He thinks outside the box, builds successful teams, drives operational excellence and is a strong supporter of balancing vendor solutions with internal development. In the last several years he has championed or led the efforts for over 50 patent applications. At this time, he is listed as an inventor on 9 granted patents, with several more still pending. Currently, Ryan lives in Middletown Delaware with his wife and two kids, and he supports the community and a volunteer and former Board member of MainStreet Middletown planning local events and parades. Outside of work Ryan spends his time playing jazz on his trumpet and building furniture in his garage. The accomplishments he is most proud of though, are teaching 1200+ kids how to swim and performing CPR twice in an emergency.
