Skip Rock is a growing craft distillery dedicated to producing top quality hand crafted spirits near Seattle, WA. Old school flavor made the old fashioned way but with a little help from technology. Started from scratch, built our original equipment, upgraded throughout time to put together a modern and efficient distillery operation. Created and tested recipes to develop world class spirits. Developed new accounts (B2B) allowing our craft spirits the opportunity to be showcased and featured in new and innovative cocktails and presentations. Responsible for business development and long range planning for a growing business in a very complex and crowded market place. Social media outreach, financial forecasting and budgeting, all aspects of marketing/sales and employee supervision included as part of a regular day.

Specializing in craft spirit production, distillery layout, equipment selection and sourcing, label work, website design and everything else needed for a successful launch. All aspects of marketing, economic feasibility and opportunity, financial forecasting, production cost breakdown, project management and timeline development on down to crafting the perfect recipe for success. I worked with an international team of professionals to develop a unique and innovative craft distillery in SE China as well as a large single malt whisky facility. Two extremely different distilleries at one breathtaking location like no other. Honored to make the first known single malt whiskey in China with my team.Assisted the ownership team with all aspects of equipment selection, sourcing and price negotiation, managed the importation of raw materials while maneuvering through the complex maze of regulatory requirements of a foreign country, developed Standard Operating Procedures that were attainable given the resources and training available and utilized all aspects of my communication skills to successfully train how to make whisky regardless of the language differences. This was a multi-year project. Assisted business development manager with their economic feasibility work regarding the craft distilling marketplace and products for a large corporate client in the Middle East. Assist domestic clients with technical distilling troubleshooting, regulatory compliance and permitting, product research and development and helping to craft sales and marketing opportunities. Always looking for new opportunities around the world and domestically!

Contracted with a local business to assist in the nationwide shortage of sanitation wipes. In short order helped to secure a 12,000 sq. ft. warehouse, manufacturing equipment and staffing. Facilitated fast turn around of orders and ability to meet tight deadlines with a motivated team. End result was close to 2,000 pallets of sanitation wipes shipped all across the nation and our partner business had their best year ever.

Tasked with a wide variety of responsibilities that included stakeholder development and consensus building, working with multiple department heads and staff to coordinate and tackle issues impacting the $126 million local farming economy and spearhead strategic planning efforts to increase economic development. Communicated with various stakeholder groups and key elected officials through regular newsletters, websites, press releases, public presentations and other communications as needed to achieve the desired outcome. Worked with biofuel constituents to enhance economic opportunities and provide regulatory/policy support to help make it happen. Appointed by and reported directly to the County Executive. Developed and implemented projects to fulfill the strategic plan, policy efforts and Executives direction. Transitioned between the numerous roles required for success on a daily basis with often rapid succession between project manager, program manager, public communications, marketing/pr specialist, event organizer, conflict resolution, technical code/policy writer, lobbyist, business advocate and story teller.
