Hydroelectric Operations - Mechanical Engineer• Led specialized mechanical engineering work in support of operations and maintenance of hydro-generation plants, dams, pumping plants, water conveyance facilities, and auxiliary equipment and systems• Provided engineering leadership and consultative services in investigating, troubleshooting, and developing mechanical engineering solutions for repair, maintenance, and improvement of large vertical turbine-generators, governors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, large gates and valves, large pumps, and electro-mechanical support systems• Conducted engineering studies to assess mechanical systems, authored reports, and recommended changes or improvements to enhance operational efficiencies, including utilizing SCADA for data analysis and predicting potential failure points• Managed maintenance and improvement projects as project manager, collaborated with area office engineers and staff to schedule work, establish priorities, and coordinate efforts, acted as Contracting Officer's Representative for mechanical engineering work under contract, conducted final review and acceptance of overall projects• Recommended approval of mechanical equipment/systems, shop drawings, and technical data, ensured compliance with standards, and made recommendations for new processes and methods, performed system checkout, operational tests, and adjustments for newly installed equipment and modified control systems to enhance project reliability.
