My professional background is relatively diverse. I have worked in hospitality as a Front Desk Associate at a hotel and a Valet Parking Associate. I have also worked as a warehouse associate, delivery driver, computer consultant, and teacher. My experiences have forced me to be able to adapt under pressure and culminated in teaching me professionalism, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, time management, and a quick ability to learn, all while performing well in high pressure situations. In my current role using my knowledge of JavaScript and HTML I worked to build a website using WordPress and custom code, but eventually grew into a more diverse consulting role in which I helped to set up an online ticketing system, design events pages to sell tickets for profit. This role, however, opened my eyes to the intricacies of Cybersecurity. I eventually instituted security policies such as password complexity, and applications like a Web Application Firewall and a Brute Force prevention tool. I also helped troubleshoot issues with Operating Systems and other IoT devices such as printers. In a very short time, I was able to grow my skill set and become a valuable asset for the company and know that when combining these soft skills I possess with my desire to become a Security Analyst, I can become a valuable asset for your company too.In November of 2021, I decided to apply to and have now graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology's Professional Cyber Security Certification Program. Throughout this program, I received direct-training that covered fundamental Network, Cloud, Windows, and Linux security, as well as Cybersecurity Infrastructure & Technologies, Digital Forensics & Incident Response, Python for security, and Ethical Hacking. Each class was taught by industry-experienced professionals and used hands on-labs and simulated CTF's using VirtualBox on our host machine. These labs were real world simulations of day-to-day activities performed by SOC analysts, IR analysis, threat hunting, SIEM/SOAR, Splunk, network configuration, Windows Server configuration, malware analysis, and so on. I have also used this time to study for the Security+ certification, and hope to attain it soon. I am targeting a role as a Jr. Cybersecurity Analyst and would love to further discuss my qualifications and how I can be an asset to your company.
