A newly created position for the School of Engineering and Information Technology, the Program Assistant assists the Executive Dean and Program Chairs with the operation of the Program Advisory Committees (PACs)/Program Development Advisory Committees (PDACs). The Program Assistant supports research and documentation tasks associated with the development of new programs and support Conestoga's Continuous Quality Improvement (CCQI) initiatives.

As Design Lead, I am responsible for coordinating committee members working on the 2013/2014 Engage!KW course. We are evaluating the learning modules and adjusting the program to better focus the learning objectives and course goals for the incumbent students.The Advisory Committee is charged with steering the direction and content of the Engage!KW program. Made up entirely of past students, the Committee is directly responsible for recruitment of the next year's class, promotion of the program in the community, alumni programming, speaker selection, course design and providing feedback and mentorship to the current class.

I conduct environmental scans and background research on the market viability for new programs in the School of Engineering & IT. In line with the aims of the school, I investigate whether there is a demand for new specialized programs, what skill-sets are needed of graduates, what requirements are needed for students to enter the new programs, and the state of skilled workers in a given field.

I assist with designing and carrying out field experiments on slot machine players at OLG casinos. Responsible for the equipment and accurate data collection, as well as managing data uploads and paying out participants.I was also on a four month research project that studied the modernization of Bingo in Ontario. At the end of the project, we submitted our report to the Ontario Problem Gambling Research Centre.
