I am the Southern California Regional Organizer for Tenants Together, a state-wide tenants rights non-profit and the chair of the Pasadena Rental Housing Board. I was recently the Finance Director for the Measure H - Pasadena for Rent Control campaign which won with 53.8% of the vote in November 2022.Pasadena for Rent Control was a tenant-led, grassroots ballot measure campaign that won a strong rent control and just cause charter amendment for the City of Pasadena. I led our coalitions fundraising efforts which will totaled over $500,000. I also volunteered for the campaign by canvassing and phone banking voters multiple times per week.I have also been the Director of Community Engagement for PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) in Los Angeles. This position combined my passion for ending homelessness through Housing First strategies with the two-decades of community development and coalition building experience I gained as a pastor in several communities across the United States.I was a pastor for nearly 20 years in a wide variety of contexts from suburban to urban, East Coast to West Coast of the USA. My ministry focused on the integration of personal faith and public witness with an emphasis on social justice concerns and interfaith dialogue and partnerships. For several years I was an adjunct professor at several universities in Southern California in multiple disciplines. I have traveled nationally and internationally as a speaker and teacher on topics of religion and contemporary society.After leaving religion and faith, I founded Life After God, an organization designed to help individuals and groups live deeply into the space "after God." This in-between world is lonely and uncharted.
