I'm a dedicated and innovative technical lead for data, software, and platform engineering, holding a First Class Honours degree in Computing Science (BSc) from the University of Glasgow, with a specialisation in Human-Computer Interaction. This foundation has instilled in me a deep understanding of how users interact with technology and how to design systems that are both intuitive and effective.Starting my career at Barclays, as a software developer on the graduate scheme, I joined a team which enhanced and maintained legacy technology. This role equipped me with a unique perspective on the importance of modernizing and maintaining robust software systems for business continuity and efficiency.Transitioning from the graduate scheme to a full-time position, I evolved into first into a data and software engineering role and now a technical lead position. Here, I am at the forefront of productionising Python machine learning models and am heavily involved in our migration to AWS, working with AWS Glue as the data engineering tool. Leveraging this knowledge of the productionisation side of data science has allowed me to lead a project to bring data science experimentation capability to the cloud!Through working extensively with CloudFormation I have been instrumental in defining and deploying resources in a safe, repeatable manner. This has helped to transform our infrastructure to be more scalable, reliable, and capable.
