Mammoth was a struggling company, years of poor management and leadership void. It was a going concern. Craftsmanship low, clients frustrated, estimates & projects poorly done, owner haemorrhaging money, team moral dismal and everyone blaming the other. There was zero strategy, vague management practices, no innovation or technology use and little accountability. A normal person would have turn on their heal and walked out the door. I was fascinated and dug in trying to unravel the many many problems, then address and fix them. All with zero budget, zero support. This was a Mammoth challenge.It took a year but I finally have the company stabilized. Through the innovative use of technology. I was able to streamline the estimation & project management process. Create management systems and accountability that are easy and effective. Teams know the boundaries, get feedback and are supported. Training programs are in place with growth goals for all staff. Employees have purpose and direction. Company culture is changing, team moral is high. Last survey shows all enjoy coming to work and want to stay. Most of the projects I inherited were delicatly renegotiated value and scopes of work to minimize the haemorrhaging. Quality is way up, clients are very happy. Projects are wrapping up, money coming back in. New estimates have a solid return. The owner is on track to be back in the black by end of this year. I have secured $1million in new contracts and am developing a growth strategy. Still much to do but that depends on the owners resolve and direction. Might be time for my next challenge.
