Performed all aspects of plant care in support of an extensive breeding program. These include propagation (vegetative and seed), grafting, pollination, harvest and post-harvest activities, etc. Many species of Euphorbia were used in interspecific hybridization experiments, which included embryo rescue, organogenesis and micropropagation. Directed labor crews in general greenhouse tasks as needed.

Responsible for performing routine laboratory procedures and maintaining appropriate supplies for a lab serving 15 scientists spanning two departments. Purified E.coli and M-13 bacteriophage DNA used for subsequent sequencing and transformation and was responsible for growth, preparation and transformation electro-competent E. coli cells.

Micropropagated desirable clonal lines of papaya in order to supply a local farm with planting material. Assisted in the transfer of technology from HARC to the farm for continued supply of hermaphroditic, high-yielding plants.Worked as papaya farm worker planting seeds, seedlings in the field, irrigation, weed control, harvest and delivery of papaya to customers. Drove plow and forklift for preparing fields and harvesting fruit.
