I am a senior lecturer and researcher in management, tourism, and sustainability at Swinburne University, in Melbourne, Australia. In 2012 I successfully completed my PhD research looking at climate change adaptation at regional tourism destinations. I have published several articles in top rated journals and presented my findings at international conferences. I have also travelled extensively, during which time he developed a greater understanding of the complex relationship between tourism and the natural environment. This interest grew into a desire to continue my research into tourism, management, and sustainability.I am also passionate about teaching and learning, in particular teaching innovation. I have been awarded several Teaching & Learning Awards, including Swinburne's inaugural Adobe Innovation Grant in 2020, Faculty and School Teaching Excellence Awards in 2016, 2021 and 2023 and most recently the Vice Chancellor's Teaching Excellence Award in 2023. I have also published several articles in top T&L journals on teaching innovations in HE, authentic learning and assessment, and assessment choice.As the Major Discipline Coordinator (MDC) Management I provide academic and curriculum leadership for the discipline/major and work with colleagues and industry to develop innovative and authentic learning and assessment activities across our academic offerings. In my previous role as Academic Director Education Quality and Assurance I supported the delivery of a uniform standard of quality assurance across various platforms and campuses, working with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with University policy and procedures, and promoting the continuous improvement of processes across the School/Faculty.
