Ryan Kahen is a Brooklyn-based designer whose work is driven by the principles of architecture, the built environment and exploration.Ryan is currently a Senior Product Manager at Uhuru Design where he oversees new product development and manages the life cycle of products and supply chain. Through the development of versatile, standardized design solutions and close collaboration with strategic manufacturing partners, he has launched Uhuru products that have become award-winning, systems based furniture lines.After graduating with an M.Arch from Wentworth Institute of Technology, Ryan has worked for several design practices in New York, including SITU and A05 Studio, where he has led teams of designers and fabricators to deliver projects, ranging from custom commercial build outs to workplace campus solutions to bespoke furniture pieces. Ryan also designs and fabricates products and furniture and collaborates with clients to provide tailored design solutions. Through his practice, Kahen Design, he is able to leverage his multidisciplinary experience to create dynamic and compelling pieces through an exploration of materials and processes.
