As a Chemistry major and aspiring physician, I'm driven to translate scientific knowledge into tangible solutions for health challenges caused by environmental toxicants. In the future, I aspire to be a physician who champions equitable and accessible healthcare with a focus on caring for underserved communitiesDuring the summer of 2024, I had the opportunity to contribute as a Research Assistant at VCU in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology investigating irinotecan and opioid induced gastrointestinal toxicity and its impact on the gut microbiome. During the school year, I serve as a volunteer at Tufts Med ED, and a research assistant at Tufts University focusing on public health engineering interventions to mitigate per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) transmission and uptake, reducing human exposure to this harmful environmental toxicant. In the Summer of 2023, I was a Patient Care Technician in the vascular intensive care unit at Beth Israel Lahey Health.As the 2022 Norton Nickerson Grant recipient, I pursued a water quality internship at the Denver Department of Public Health & Environment.The 2024-2025 season will be my fourth year on the Tufts Men's Rowing Team. As the Founder/President of Tufts Athlete Ally, and I was honored to be the 2024 recipient of the Pride on the Hill award. Under my leadership, Tufts has become the largest and most active Athlete Ally collegiate chapter in the United States. At the 2024 Athlete Activism Summit, hosted by Athlete Ally, I had the privilege of presenting and facilitating workshops. I shared the successful strategy of the Tufts Athlete Ally chapter, which is widely regarded as a blueprint for chapter success, with university administrators and athletes from universities nationwide. Tufts Athlete Ally was honored as the 2024 Chapter of the Year at the Action Awards gala in October 2024.
