Undertake comprehensive assessment and treatment planning for offenders managing alcohol and drug dependence issues. Providing evidence based one on one counselling and best practice interventions to offenders managing alcohol and drug dependence issues. Participate in case review and peer supervision framework for staff working with offenders managing alcohol and drug dependence issues. To work collaboratively with the Learning and Development Manager and Team Leaders to provide training, expert advice and case management support to Court Diversion Officers and Probation Officers working with offenders managing alcohol and drug dependence issues. Maintain offender case notes, records and administrative information and prepare formal assessments and other reports in accordance with relevant practice standards. Maintain a current understanding of evidence-based treatment approaches, delivering these treatment approaches and being able to offer a range of treatment options. Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant industrial award or agreement and in accordance with the skills, competency and training of the occupant.

· To provide advice and liaison with police, courts, lawyers and other stakeholders as required by the Witness Intermediary Scheme.· Provide advice, training and support to approved witness intermediaries on the intermediaries panel including the development of policies and procedures to support the operational functions of the Witness Intermediary Scheme.· Maintain relationships with Tasmanian Government Departments and Instrumentalities to facilitate the timely management and advice regarding the implementation of the Pilot Intermediary Scheme.· To prepare written analysis and advice to the Assistant Director and Director in relation to a wide range of routine and complex legal issues relating to the management of information within the context of the Child Abuse Royal Commission Response Unit’s functions.· To undertake duties as allocated by the Assistant Director and Director consistent with the functions of the Witness Intermediary Scheme and the Child Abuse Royal Commission Response Unit and that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying the position at this classification level.
