Reviews post-conviction relief (PCR) applications, calendar returns. and prepares proper pleadings and responses to applications or motions. Represents the State at court hearings. Prepares all proposed orders requested by the presiding judge. Files and serves appeals on behalf of the State in all cases in which relief is granted unless approval not to pursue an appeal is obtained from the Chief Deputy Attorney General. Represents the State at oral argument when scheduled. Prepares a roster of cases to be heard and issued to appropriate parties or individuals. Ensures that witness letters and subpoenas are prepared and forwarded for mailing and/or service. Arranges for the transportation of post-conviction relief applicants to the hearings. Identifies witnesses needed to defend PCR action. Mails rosters prior to term. Collects and reviews incoming mail, provides appropriate processing instructions, and ensures all due dates are noted. Promptly advises victim advocates of any development and/or status of assigned cases. Maintains an accurate calendar of all due dates. Is responsible for maintaining “shake-proof” files and promptly closing all files.

Assisting the Law Library and other researchers at the Law School by streamlining the research process for others and conducting research on case law, legislation, and a wide array of other topics. The varying research included experience with other resources, such as the Pennsylvania Bulletin.

Assist the partners with case law research, prepare letters, memos, and other documents for legal proceedings, and accompany the partners to court hearings and meetings. Also aiding in trial preparation, such as organizing documents obtained during discovery.
