    Lead investigator in Explainable AI program integrating explainable machine intelligent approaches with dynamic and interactive visualization systems. By architecting data in analytically available frameworks, we aim to exploit data faster, deeper, and more efficiently while retaining the capability to justify machine driven solutions that obey commander’s intent. Our program seeks to provide fully justifiable modeling capabilities that perform as well as state-of-the-art deep net solutions without the black-box. By providing fully traceable solutions, our deep topological modeling capability can build trust and automate hypothesis generation.My current focus aims to integrate explainable artificial intelligence approaches that generalize across domains. Currently we have developed XAI demonstrations in computer vision (geospatial satellite, hyperspectral, LIDAR, SAR, wide-area motion, and high resolution radar), human performance optimization (EEG, exercise physiology, special forces training success prediction, brain-computer interfaces, and Air Force-wide suicide risk prediction), deep net optimization (deep net explanation, hardening against adversarial attack, RF modulation prediction, low-cost attributable aircraft design), and a number of Air Force relevant autonomy domains. Subject matter expert in molecular genetics, systems biology, biosignature identification, and diagnostic development for future sensor platforms related to personalized medicine. I am fortunate to have also participated in a number of interdisciplinary research programs that include biophotonics, abiotic/biotic interfacial sciences for enhanced sensing, novel informatics approaches for real-time feature extraction, and creating new visualization interfaces that provide informative metrics for operator augmentation.
