This involved meeting with clients and discussing long term needs regarding healthcare, education, and income support.• Duties included: arranging language translation; setting up appointments for and providing transportation and check-in to dental and medical visits, this included corresponding with doctors and deliberating about future medical care with the clients; facilitating access to WIC, Medicaid, and Social Security Disability services with clients and coordinating with the requisite government agencies regarding paperwork; responding to the educational needs of the client’s children and was put in charge by my supervisor to oversee the refugee American Sign Language (ASL) program.
