Pro-actively works with various Councils, Sub-Councils, VISN11 Staff Participants, and with Management to identify needs and initiatives, develop, and executes projects in support of revenue enhancement activities. Is fully capable of establishing a facility-wide management information system that ensures the capture of cost, workload, and VERA data; and provides the information in a format that is useful to the facility management officials and various councils for evaluating resource utilization and VERA performance for the Medical Center. Develops Tables that support the benchmarking of data, including financial data, patient populations and workload data. Very astute and capable to design databases, translating data into meaningful management information that is made available to a wide variety of constituents. Conducts special studies and analyses as requested, including feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, FTEE productivity analyses, case mix analyses, etc.; Identifies and evaluates data elements needed for these studies and submits findings, results and recommendations. Provides finance and cost information for in-depth studies of VERA allocations and variations in demand, supply utilization and costs of facility activities. Maintains general knowledge of medical coding systems and the impact of usage as it relates to ICD9 and CPT coding. Conducts surveys or reviews of Departments/Service Lines, as requested by the Director or staff, to evaluate resource utilization, workload/cost reporting, data validation activities, etc. and provide written reports on findings, along with recommendations, for improving program activities.
