In the Marine Corps I was an Infantry Rifleman, eventually earning the title of Team Leader. During that time I did one combat deployment to Iraq and two to Afghanistan. Our (Squad) responsibilities were to conduct combat operations in Southern Afghanistsn. Operations varied from finding weapons caches and Improvised Explosive Devices (IED)to , conducting local atmospherics patrols or even census data collection. These operations would assist in gathering information to apprehend valued targets. Some days we would train the local police as well as local militia in the area.
