Primarily responsible for putting in place a robust management system to ensure the safe and effective manning of 103 level crossings of a 194km mining railway. Dealing with day to day issues, involving 315 local national level crossing attendants in extreme social, political and economic climates. Working closely with community leaders, level crossing attendants and rail operations to encourage development of the both the commercial success of the railway and the employment of local nationals for future generations. Aiding in the gradual implementation of “western” style systems, including health and safety, risk assessments and procedures. Co-ordinating the mining and rail interfaces to allow real time mine to port rail operations and as a team driving to the goal of the company being the number one contributor to the countries GDP by Q3 of 2013.

Seconded to drive towards the completion of the North London Underground Station at Blackfriars. Co-ordination of last minute design changes with on site activities to achieve station handover to London Underground. Interfacing with the client and sub contractors alike to ensure that the programme goals are achieved. General site management to ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and productive manner.

Kings Cross, London

Managing station access to ensure London Underground “SABRE” entry conditions are met, including track access – in compliance with contractors Method Statements and programme of works. Liaise closely with the Project Management team and contractors to ensure deployment of personnel and materials are managed in an efficient and logical way to maximise productivity in the short engineering works time window.Manage on - site storage areas, to make sure that all materials comply with London Underground standards and that expensive equipment is used correctly and not lying unnecessarily idle.Monitoring the certifications of all site personnel, to provide assurance that all contractors are qualified and trained to the required standard.Ensuring that all modernisation works at Kings Cross underground station and Northern Ticket Hall, are carried out to a safe, high standard and to programme. Managing problems as and when they arise and reporting all events to senior management, to ensure co-ordination and continuity of the project goals.Co-ordinate site supervisors to ensure that the premises comply with both Section 12 and operational standards, to hand the station back for operational use.Maintain a frequent site presence, to be approachable and have first - hand experience of on - site events.Liaising closely with 3rd parties and London Underground asset departments has seen me implement new procedures to protect the interests of PB and enhance the relationship with the client.

Tasked to ensure that training tools and programmes meet LUL operational and assurance standards for the updated signalling system on the new London Underground Victoria Line signalling centre. This was achieved by taking existing task analyses and Human Factor influences and developing them in partnership with the designers and clients to provide a comprehensive, effective and safe training regime in readiness for the start of operations.
