Goldman Sachs' Regulatory Practice Group ("RPG"), part of the firm's Global Compliance Division, is responsible for managing the firm's interactions and relationships with regulators worldwide. The RPG team for the Americas ("RPG") manages firm interactions with all non-prudential regulators in the U.S., including the SEC, CFTC, FINRA, NFA and various equities, futures, options and swaps exchanges. Supported by a RPG team in Bengaluru, India, the Americas team also has certain oversight responsibilities for firm interactions with regulators in Brazil, Canada in Mexico.RPG team members are the primary point of contact and coordinators for all regulatory exams and inquiries received from non-prudential regulators in the U.S., and in this capacity work with Goldman Sachs' businesses, as well as stakeholders in the firm's Compliance, Finance, Legal, Operations, Risk and Technology Divisions. RPG's responsibility includes responding to formal findings issued by regulators as a result of exams and inquiries, and helping determine, where appropriate, remedial measures to be undertaken.Additional RPG responsibilities include reporting on Americas regulatory interactions to firm leadership, liaising with RPG teams outside of the U.S. on cross-border matters, tracking undertakings made to firm regulators, evaluating self-reporting obligations applicable to the firm's businesses, and participation in industry associations, such as SIFMA and FIA, on emerging financial industry regulatory topics and issues relating to regulatory interactions.RPG was previously named the Regulatory Audits and Inquiries team.
