I have completed a bachelor’s degree in psychological sciences and also a post graduate degree in psychology in 2019. Since completing my post graduate degree, I have been working as a Child Safety Officer at the department of Child Safety. This has been a valuable learning experience and I have enjoyed the transition from full time study to full time work. The real world experience has given me the opportunity to develop my skills, meet and work with like-minded professionals, and recognize my interests. Moving forward, I would like to become a registered psychologist and complete the 4 + 2 pathway. I would describe myself as hardworking, friendly and determined. I would also say that I have a strong set of values, of which, honesty and compassion are rated highly. Through my previous work experience, study and long term involvement in team sports, I have developed useful problem solving skills and work well within a team. I have also shown that I can confidently work alone as I like to be independent and can learn quickly. Due to my experience in stressful work environments and situations, I am able to keep calm and continue working efficiently. I am also not afraid to speak up and suggest solutions to problems or ask questions. University has helped me to identify my interest in evidence-based psychology practices. It has also given me the skills to effectively use Microsoft Office, SPSS and to write in an academic manner. I have also learned valuable time management skills and gained further team experience from university.
