-Passed training course for BSL3 and Select Agent work in January 2011.-Experience with propagation and QC of BSL3 and Select Agent bacterium; to include Bacillus anthracis, Brucella, Burkholderia, Francisella tularensis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Yersinia pestis.-Maintained a consistently heavy workload including tracking inventory.-Utilized a variety of quality control techniques to verify organism identification: Biochemical testing, API, Biolog-Conducted PCR to assist in speciation of Bacillus, Yersinia and Francisella-Conducted 16S and HSP65 PCR on all relevant organisms to amplify target sequence region.-Conducted sequencing on all species of relevant bacteria in addition to conducting the sequencing for BSL3 and Select Agent viruses.-Acted as lead trainer for new bacteriology employees in the select agent program.

-Responsible for production and quality control of relevant bacteria genera. -Responsible for production and quality control of DNA from relevant bacteria genera which included DNA extraction from gram positive and gram negative bacterium.-Responsibilities include a required knowledge of bacterial identification techniques and molecular techniques.-Lead biologist in production of TB Plasmid collection which included utilizing plasmid extraction techniques which resulted in receiving Serve That Achieves Recognition (STAR) award in August 2010.-Responsible for Bacteriology quality control which includes propagating and performing a vast array of biochemical and molecular assays on a wide variety of bacterial species. -Acting lead biologist for a significant project, overseeing the quality control processes related to the project.-Experience in working with a number of bacterial identification techniques/instruments including Vitek, Riboprinter, Biolog, API and RapID testing. -Obtained a commendable evaluation rating (highest on the rating scale) for the year 2007.
