He was the Sales Director for What Media in South Africa and the United Kingdom and has sat on the board as a director of Umkhonto Africa Holdings and Platinum Media up until 2006 within the call centre environment. Over the years he headed up divisions for corporate finance, retail innovation and alliances, finally culminating in his position at mergers and acquisitions.Mr. Long was one of the founding members in strategically setting up and getting involved in the establishment of the very successful strategy company with a global foot print called ISCM (Institute for Strategy and Complexity Management) African Lion was formed with the sole purpose of developing and marketing technology solutions for the African Continent at large covering the Mining and Exploration sectors as well as facilitating structured finance for companies in and around Africa.
