CurrentPerforms expert-level professional engineering and scientific work involving the design, construction, and operation of computer systems, including hardware and software and their integration. Utilizing computer engineering theories and principles works on programs/projects that include computer programming languages; computer hardware and software integration; integrated computer hardware and software systems; and computer systems design requirements, standards, codes, techniques, and practices. Independently defines research objectives, determines how they may be best accomplished, develops and evaluates alternatives, defines the approach, conducts analyses, and documents findings and products. Demonstrates mastery of and skill in applying innovative computer engineering practices, techniques, and methodology to identify, analyze, and resolve issues; ensures resolutions are consistent with program objectives. Demonstrates creativity and foresight by identifying, preparing, and presenting detailed technical reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects and defining future technology requirements. Collaborates, interacts, coordinates, and/or directly consults with AF, other governments, DoD, academic, and industry partners. Promotes a culture where Intellectual Property (IP) is developed, documented, protected, and rewarded. Reviews technical publications as part of the technical publication review process. Utilizes scientific/engineering knowledge to assist in IP transfer, transition, or commercialization.
