I recently graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations. I complemented my Bachelor’s degree by completing minors in Management and Integrated Communication. Throughout my experience at BSU, I developed a passion for community building and sustainability. I’ve nurtured this through various research efforts, such as my Honors Thesis, which examined the extent to which businesses in the Bridgewater, MA area engage in sustainable efforts, how they externally communicate these practices, and how their sustainable efforts benefit their business and community. I also researched this passion through my project with the Boston Area Gleaners, which focused on overhauling internal communication practices in order to increase volunteering for a nonprofit dedicated to solving food insecurity and eliminating agricultural waste. Alongside my studies, I gained experience in the communications and marketing fields through internships with BuzzAround and the Collaborative University Business Experiences (CUBEs) Initiative at Bridgewater State University. At BuzzAround, I took part in a mission to share weekly ‘good news’ from Massachusetts Metro South communities to over 18,000 readers and market local businesses. In this marketing role, I analyzed consumer data, created social media posts, and worked on business-to-business newsletters and advertisements to benefit small businesses. As a digital content intern for CUBEs, my proudest accomplishment was providing students opportunities to work with companies on real-world projects by helping forge relationships between BSU faculty and local businesses in a networking event. Having completed my bachelor’s degree and having gained a wide array of experience through my research and internship efforts, I am now eager to move forward with my career as an Advancement Operations Coordinator with Walker. I am fully committed to upholding and carrying out Walker's mission of positively transforming the lives of children and youth who are facing complex emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges through partnerships with their families and communities. As a pillar of Walker's team, I will play my part in helping these children, youth, and families by nurturing hope, building strengths, and developing lifelong skills.
