Conduct complex investigations regarding fraud, waste, and abuse of the SSA programs.

Independently conduct and lead extremely complex, difficult, and highly sensitive investigations into criminal and non-criminal cases involving persons and property under the charge and control of the Agency. Provide authoritative advice, assistance, and guidance to the Field Divisions and senior-level management on the policies, procedures, protocol, regulations, and laws for investigative activities, specifically focusing on sensitive investigative techniques and matters requiring Office of Investigations headquarters oversight. Advises the Special Agent-in-Charge (SAC) and Assistant to the Special Agent-in-Charge (ATSAC) on investigative activities and reports including direction and progress of investigation; significant findings and developments; problems or questions of evidence; testimony or law; and actions to be taken on other related matters. Prepare or provide guidance in the preparation of, Management Advisory Reports in instances where programmatic weaknesses were identified in the investigative process. Reports included the program areas involved; existing integrity controls and lack of controls; and recommendations for improvement, which may result in regulatory or procedural changes.
