As the Associate General Counsel of the DFS Group, I am the lead legal adviser to DFS' businesses around the world. My role with LF Logistics was an expansion to and a promotion from my previous role as a Legal Counsel to the Li & Fung Group (now Fung 1937). I worked closely with the President and COO of the LF Logistics Group as the Head of the Contracts and Risk Management Department which advises on all legal matters and crisis management concerning the Group. I oversaw the Group's general governance and management of all contracting activities and risk management. Key highlights of my responsibilities included:- Creating and maintaining the Group's contract management and claims reporting systems;- Advising on key commercial agreements such as leases and warehousing contracts;- Managing material disputes & litigation and major crisis incidents;- Partnering with insurance providers to design bespoke insurance solutions and business opportunities for the Group.

My primary responsibilities were to advise Li & Fung's subsidiary company, LF Logistics, on all its legal matters ranging from reviewing and negotiating service agreements, advising on compliance issues, to managing claims and disputes. I also advised Li & Fung's sourcing and vendor support services functions particularly on the areas of disputes and international trade.

I am also experienced in handling port and/or cargo terminal disputes including cargo/container damage, port damage, personal injury and employment matters.On the non-contentious side, I have assisted in advising on a variety commercial matters including corporate & project-finance transactions, technologies & life-science matters and intellectual property & products liability disputes.
