Growing up on a farm taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and dedication. Early in my life, I spent time in the fields and I quickly realized that farming wasn't for me. I became very interested in mathematics, critical thinking, and problem-solving. I began focusing the traits I learned from doing manual labor on the farm to do mental work. During high school, I was introduced to the business world in the form of accounting, and after some job shadowing and career aptitude tests, I decided to combine my love for math and business and give Actuarial Science a shot. At the University of Nebraska, I was blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the Nebraska Business Honors Academy. The Honors Academy has helped me develop personally and professionally more so than any other experience in college. Being surrounded by so many high-achieving colleagues has shown me what it takes to be a high-achiever in the business world.
