My responsibility as a part of the Intake team is to ingest as well as live record media from various sources such as our news crews, NBC News shows, social media or independent sources for use in various shows and projects under the NBC News umbrella. This is achieved by using a combination of proprietary software and third party software such as Avid Interplay, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Prelude and Latakoo. I am also responsible for naming and organizing ingested media files in a neat and timely manner so that they are easily and readily accessible by our producers and editors.

As a Field Engineer my responsibility is to go to production and live shot locations and help the rest of the crew set up and break down sets. I help set up lighting, cameras, and transmission as well as assist the Photographers, Audio Engineers, Managers and Producers with troubleshooting or setting up their equipment. I am also responsible for bringing a majority of our in-house gear to the production locations with one of our company vehicles which needs to be loaded and unloaded before and after each shoot. Once a shoot is over, I go through all the gear that was taken and make sure it is all in working condition.

As a Courier my responsibility was to pick up and drop off people and equipment to and from the Los Angeles Bureau. I most often drove talent to and from live shot locations as well as dropped off and picked up equipment from repair or took gear to members of the crew when they were doing live shots.
