• Working under Dr. Brusslan, I was put in charge of a mutant line of Arabidopsis, specifically amutation in bhlh112 bolting associated gene. The work was done to see how exactly themutation would affect bolting time in the mutant gene line versus the wild type. I also helpedother undergraduates whenever they wanted to use the bhlh112 mutants in their own work.• Other responsibilities include testing different mutant lines of Arabidopsis, both DNA and RNA,to ensure that the seeds are not contaminated with wild type Arabidopsis. This work was donefor graduate students in the laboratory.

• Provided help to servers by running food, drinks, and other necessities to their tables to ensure a smooth operation was carried out.• Ran the food line where I provided quality assurance and organized food to be brought to the tables.

• Developed training programs and strategy for the team and coached the student athletes• Ran with the student athletes to ensure their safety and that the students remained on task• Provided a mentorship role to the students by helping them with studies and help prepare them for college

• Developed my research ability at my community college• Worked on research studies looking at the effect of pH on photosynthetic oxygen production in coralline alga and the effect of elevated phosphorus levels on the role of mycorrhizal fungi in corn. • Published in the Journal of Undergraduate Research. This revealed my love for biology research and look forward to the opportunity to do it again.
