About Ryan Mateyo

I am a junior at Miami University Farmer School of Business pursuing a major in Finance and a minor in Entrepreneurship. I am a member of the Honors College and have been named to the Dean’s List in the Fall of 2022 and the President’s List in the Spring of 2023. As a result of the classes I have taken, I have obtained technical skills in Microsoft Office, Python, and Oracle SQL. Soft skills I have continued to develop at Miami are critical thinking, problem solving, presentation design, collaboration, and business communication. These skills have helped me to find success in the classroom and on case competitions and I look forward to applying them outside the classroom as well.At Miami, I am a member of RedHawk Ventures, Miami’s student-led venture capital fund. I complete due diligence on startups with a goal of providing exceptional returns. I organize and prepare my findings to present to the whole fund. I am also a caddy at Canterbury Golf Club in Beachwood, Ohio. I constantly mentor younger associates and act as a resource for them. I have continually improved my attention to detail and my interpersonal and communication skills due to caddying. I have only deepened my passion for learning, collaboration and leadership and continue to look for ways to do so. I enjoy exercising, watching Cleveland sports, and reading.
