Working as a delivery driver for multiple takeaways in my town has had a huge impact on my personal and professional development. It’s not just about delivering food; this role has helped me eliminate social anxiety and build confidence through constant communication with restaurant staff, organizing shifts, and even pitching myself to new takeaways. I’ve developed a strategic approach to my work, often securing shifts with two takeaways in a single night, allowing me to earn £20-£25 per hour cash in hand, which is far more efficient than other forms of employment.This flexibility means I can focus more time on my studies and personal goals, such as my passion for music. By working smarter, I’ve had the freedom to release four songs, which have collectively gained nearly 500,000 streams. The royalties from my music provide an additional income stream, further supporting my ability to prioritize my academic and personal growth.

My first job at Brass Monkey as a bar staff member gave me my initial experience of the working world, especially when it came to handling money and interacting with customers. This role taught me the importance of building rapport with people, delivering great service, and managing transactions effectively. Looking back, I can see how these early lessons relate to my current job as a delivery driver.
