Director Of Copyediting
Current• Copyedit all client/agency writing (both creative and non-creative copy), focusing on grammar, punctuation, syntax, clarity, style, tone, voice, consistency, and adherence to client style guides• Collaborate with the Creative, Account Management, Communication Strategy, Brand Strategy, Research and Analytics, and new-business departments to edit presentations and proposals for client meetings • Assist the copywriters and creative directors with grammar and usage issues. Work directly with the copywriters to obtain clarification on queries and approval on major changes• Maintain client/agency style guides and track and monitor brand-specific graphic standards • Manage the daily operations of the department and the other members of the Copyediting team and act as the liaison between the full-time copyeditors, HR, and Account Management• Serve as the agency point person for general copyediting questions and for disseminating information from the Copyediting department to the agency as a whole• Field all requests for freelance-copyediting after-hours work and hire and schedule freelance copyediting help when needed• Mediate stylistic and grammatical disputes or inconsistencies among the copyeditors
