Mr. McEliece has been working in the oceanographic industry since 2005. Specializing in offshore surveys, remote sensing, GIS, data processing, data analysis and survey technologies, he has collected data in both near shore and deep ocean environments all over the world, including North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. As an accredited research scientist, Mr. McEliece has developed innovative methods for collecting and processing survey data using Autonomous Aerial Vehicles. Mr. McEliece has the ability, experience and education to assess technological needs, design workflow strategies that streamline goals to manage complex projects within time and budget constraints. The combination of his technical experience, GIS and remote sensing skills are critical for successful data analysis. He excels in utilizing these technologies to understand dynamic processes and execute project goals with accuracy. His skills allow him to predict critical project details that enable efforts to be streamlined.

Field and Project Manager on various projects that include planning, deploying and retrieving current meters and other scientific oceanographic instruments. Responsible for the custom building of all deployment packages to meet client and environmental requirements. Developed, built and maintained real-time MetOcean buoy packages. Supported the dive team in underwater installation and maintenance of scientific equipment. Responsible for the designing, building, and troubleshooting of electronic systems. Built and maintained tide stations. Principal lead and support for hydrographic surveys including real-time current data collection and bathymetry surveys. Field Leader for the South Puget Sound Dissolved Oxygen Study. Responsible for coordinating, planning, and conducting all water quality monitoring and data collection for the study. Lead Scientist on oceanographic cruises: prepared and organized all cruise logistics, trained cruise participants and volunteers on proper sampling techniques, and processed samples within the laboratory. Coordinated and conducted water quality monitoring and data collection from Puget Sound tributaries and waste water treatment plants. As a GIS analyst, worked independently on a GIS project to map publicly owned and accessible shorelines in Washington State. Partnered with marine resource managers in governmental and non-profit agencies to accomplish project goals on time and within budget. Coordinated meetings and initiated water quality monitoring programs within tribal nations, state agencies, and counties. Assisted in the creation of an interactive website for field and laboratory data entry.
