• Consistently supervise four (or more) audit teams and as many as 15 staff at various stages of the audit process; providing oversight to ensure adherence with generally accepted government auditing standards; guiding teams in planning brainstorms and risk assessments; offering advice while navigating fieldwork, verifying work is sufficiently documented, and finding opportunities to elevate conclusions and related recommendations during the reporting phase. • Represented the Office of Inspector General to U.S. Representative staff in multiple briefings; presented on high impact audit results at Agency conferences to hundreds of specialized staff.• Assumed leading role within working group supporting the Office of Audit’s position management evaluation; provided critical input on development of position descriptions for Foreign Service auditors and analysts; independently evaluated the needs of the organization; and recommended innovative ways to improve organizational inefficiencies.• Foster a sense of inclusion, openness, levity, and appreciation within the office; orienting staff to focus on leadership, development, teamwork, interpersonal relationships, competency, and personal accountability.

Work Objective: Strengthen the ability of the organizations for which OIG provides oversight to manage and deliver foreign assistance efficiently and effectively through audit products and activities.Deter and detect fraud, corruption, criminal activity, and misconduct in the programs, operations, and workforce of the organizations for which OIG provides oversight.Accomplishments:• Independently conducted several internal quality assurance reviews of the OIG's adherence to generally accepted government auditing standards for performance-, compliance-, and finance-related audits.• Developed and delivered a week-long training course to OIG audit staff in multiple offices on how to conduct an audit from planning to reporting; tailored to specific risks related to historical work.• Drafted and revised material portions of the OIG Audit Procedures Handbook. As an authority on OIG audit policy and professional standards, regularly guided OIG staff at all levels on a wide range of audit-related and other procedural topics.• Contributed to development of risk-based, annual audit plan covering over a $ billion portfolio• Led both U.S. and foreign national staff in planning and conducting performance audits in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards.• Made hundreds of recommendations to improve management controls and to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of U.S. foreign aid programs, thereby saving the U.S. Government millions of dollars.• Represented the Office of Inspector General to U.S. Representative staff, U.S. Ambassadors, senior foreign government officials, and various nongovernmental organization officials.

Promoted accountability, fiscal integrity and openness in state and local government by conducting compliance, financial and single audits.
