Responsibilities:Case analysis, investigation, strategy, and workup from intake through trialLegal research and drafting pleadingsLocating, retaining and working independently with expertsResearching and finding “piss-off” and impeachment evidence for use against party opponents and expertsResearching product manufacturers and their devices for evidence of liability and/or new causes of action through means other than discovery, e.g. online, public records requests, etc.Attending and participating in inspections and testing, including drafting protocols. Coordinating and working directly with experts and defense counsel on the sameDeveloping and drafting written discovery plans and executing them from A-Z:• Drafting written discovery• Responding to written discovery• Reviewing, organizing and memorizing all documents produced in discovery then identifying witnesses for deposition and additional documents to request• Deposition outlines with questions and exhibits included in the outlines• Support during depositions• Writing meet and confer letters• Involvement in meet and confer discussions• Drafting and providing support on motions to compel, opposition, replies and oral argumentStrategizing on causes of action, including close review of factual information and evidence for issues of intentional torts and punitive damagesStrategizing on creative solutions to common litigation problems and defense tacticsResearching clients for purposes for clients of discovery and depo prepLogistical prep and participation during focus groupsDevelopment of chronologies, factual timelines, trial graphics, etc. Trial prep including: TRC reports, witness lists, exhibit lists, selection of exhibits, PowerPoints for opening and closing, expert and percipient witness prep, trial outlines, support with jury selection, provided courtroom support throughout multiple trials in and out of San DiegoClient contact and support throughout all phases of litigation
