I work with site supervisors within Construction sites and motorway sites in order to complete and delegate tasks given to me. I supervise my own squad of Labourers and give them tasks to do that have been relayed from the Supervisors.

Improve the goalkeepers skills and techniques over a 12 week block

I transferred onto the Forestry team within Action for Children. I helped my colleagues run 12 week programmes which consisted of three days out on a Forestry Commission Site and one day consisting of qualification work. These different sites would consist of Carron Valley, Wester Moffat, Dunsyston, Cory, Dullatur, Rawyards and many others. The qualification was the same if previous programmes which was the Employability and Steps to Work Award Level 3 & 4. The young people involved would be aged 16-24 who again were not in education employment or training. The young people would gain some in house training such as Site Safety Awareness and Manual Handling. The programme would also help the young people obtain a CSCS card so that they would be able to work out in a construction site. The young people would also obtain their LANTRA award for brush-cutting which is very desirable. Once the young people completed the 12 week programme I would try to find them another positive destination whether that be another training provider or a job within construction.

I delivered, assessed and completed various qualifications for all services throughout Action for Children. These qualifications were the City and Guilds Employability award Level 4, The Employability and Steps to Work Level 3 & 4 as well as the Certificate of Work Readiness. I travelled to all service throughout the region such as our Rockbank Street Office in Glasgow, our offices in Kilmarnock and residential living accommodation in Alexandria (Dunbartonshire). All of these qualifications were completed in conjunction with the Scotlands Best volunteering programme which is similar to Get Set for Sport but with a 10 hour volunteering placement in a working environment.

I ran a sports volunteer programme for 16-24 year olds that were not in employment, education or training. These ran 5 weekly which included in house training such as drug awareness, smoking cessation, Heath and nutrition awareness and nil by mouth. The volunteers also completed the City and Guilds Employability Qualification Level 4 as well as the Sport Leadership Level 4 award. The volunteers completed 50 hours of voluntary sports work to complete the course. The programme was named GET SET FOR SPORT.
