First of all, he is very technical. We started a project called "real time computer vision" and I appointed him as the engineering manager. In a short month, he was able to lead architecture discussions within my team as well as with partner teams in other divisions. His knowledge went beyond video codec and streaming processing, as he showed people how to design a scalable system that can be easily deployed while gracefully integrated with Microsoft Azure and AI platforms.
Second, he drove for results. We had a challenging timeline during the project's bootstrap timeframe. He did not compromise on product quality. In 4 months, his team was able to deliver a plausible demo to senior executives and earned the long-term investment from upper management.
