About Ryan Mensing

A Pastor once complained to a Stage Actor. My pews sit empty each week. Yet, you speak to a packed house every night. After a moment, the actor replied, "I think it is because of this. I take what is fake and make it seem real. You take what is real and make it seem fake." Life's great boundary analysis: what is outside of the start and end dates on a gravestone? The great untestables. The big ones. The sin and the death issue. Who is going to pay for all the damages done from life's mistakes? Why is all that we lived extinguished in one cruel, final moment? Both seem mightily wrong. That there is no justice for wrongs suffered, nor done. Even more, the seemingly unexplainable tragedy of the loss of all that encompasses our and others "being." How a Jewish man, named Jesus, hanging on a Roman cross, in the Ancient Near East... who couldn't quite stay dead...and why that is an any way meaningful to those question...there are infinite depths to plumb... ("The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of Man.")Yet, in between those two dates is a dash - the brief interlude - ALL that happens under the sun. Life on this earth. We're stuck with the business of living. Kids, a boss, a spouse and a house, bill and pills ... The Triune God must care for these too. The test. The hypothesis. Where would a real God intersect with what happens within the short dash, in-between. What's it like to bring something of some of the person of God onto some subset of the day-to-day problems of the "real" world. Servant Leadership? ("Whoever wants to be first must be last, and the servant of all") AI? (how about the self-replicating, self-generating, regenarative, mutable programming of human DNA?) What insight could the Universe's greatest programmer have awaiting for today's IT org? Management and Organizational Theory? (think the orderer of a seething mass of superhot atomic particles into the endless diversity of innumerable categories of material and ethereal beings might know a thing or two?) Time management? (What can we glean from the one who has never missed a sunset or a sunrise - nor a season?) Psychology? (Perhaps the one whose "thoughts are higher than our thoughts" has a new perspective on the issues of life?) Work-Life Balance? (“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”) This is Ryan's about me. Testing. Asking questions. Awaiting surprising answers.
