Leading a practical hands-on laboratory, I taught second and third-year engineering students fundamental concepts relating to geotechnical engineering.

I was involved in a geotechnical site investigation program at a mine site using a Sonic drill rig. This included logging soils and installing hydrogeological instrumentation. I also gained experience in technical modeling using SlopeW and Muk3D. Additionally, I reviewed rock core data for Rock Mass Rating parameters and developed software using Python to improve the efficiency of geotechnical data processing. Other tasks included completing Q&A of climate and hydrology data.These tasks aided in the development of a field investigation report to better characterize a site prior to the construction of a tailings dam.

During this four-month internship, I was tasked with completing site investigations to determine the suitability of the subgrade and identify potential geohazards for construction projects around southern British Columbia. I carried out material and slope reviews and provided recommendations to improve site conditions. I also developed skills in drainage design, construction monitoring, formal report writing, and client communication.

In this full-time position, my duties included developing a schedule for and directing a summer sports camp for ages 7-12 years. I acted as the primary contact on-site and was often responsible for opening/closing the building.

I was responsible for lesson planning as well as coaching and supervising children in sport. I also provided support at community recreation events in Kelowna, such as neighborhood "Block Parties" and holiday celebrations. I was responsible for encouraging safe, active participation in the community.

During this three-month software engineering position, I worked with a team of Engineers and other co-op students to develop skills in software development and product verification. Main projects included developing a website to simplify communication between the sales team and clients, designing a program to analyze aircraft distress data, creating a radio and speaker from base electrical components, and creating/analyzing product test cases. Along with technical skills, soft skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and communicative skills were developed.Programming Languages: Python, HTML, PHP
