As an analytics professional, I spent the first 5 years of my career leveraging my background in econometrics to develop a skill set in data science focused on producing accurate predictive analytics for sales and marketing organizations.Over the last 10+ years I've built, led, and developed analytics teams where I've come to realize that producing accurate predictive analytics is just a single step in the process of delivering data-driven decision making within an organization. I now spend the majority of the time understanding the needs of the business and guiding stakeholders to solutions driven by analytics. I've accepted that even perfect models don't drive a dollar of revenue or save a single customer if you can't convince the business to act on your recommendations or implement your solutions.Most importantly, I really enjoy what I do. If I'm drawing up our next solution on a whiteboard, presenting the latest findings, or putting on some headphones and cranking out the next piece of code - you can bet I'm having fun.
