As a production supervisor in my second rotation, I am tasked with ensuring the safety, well being, and productivity of all on the factory floor. My day-to-day responsibilities include dealing with the myriad issues facing the 30+ people under my supervision, identifying and acting upon focused improvement projects to reduce waste, and actively ensuring that proper rules and procedures are being followed. Overall, I work to ensure a safe, welcoming work environment and the production of the highest quality products.

I took charge of monitoring and actioning on opportunities in the Breyers finished goods network. This included vetting DC deployments, monitoring days of supply, and working with customer service analysts to ensure a case-fill rate that was world-class in the highest volume ice cream brand in America. My efforts translated into the opportunity to create the training materials for requirements planners company-wide.

As demand planner, I am responsible for the total forecast and nationwide customer service for the Popsicle brand. My daily duties require me to rebalance inventory in our nationwide DCs to more reliably serve our customers, update and maintain the forecasts on each Popsicle, as well as deal with issues related to business waste reduction.

At the Maryland Fund for Excellence, we reach out to the University of Maryland community to raise valuable funds to improve the university's ability to make an amazing impact in the lives of its students.

I applied laboratory techniques and gained a level of technical awareness in the process. This internship gave me firsthand knowledge of a complex-adaptive system and a valuable understanding of the importance of both monetary and human capital.
