I worked on so many things with so many great people, it was awesome. Pretty much 12 years of computer vision research with a few other things sprinkled in (like nlp, android app development, and cyber). Was lucky enough to win a few grants, both lead and contribute to some amazing teams, think strategically, and achieve noteworthy results. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.Below are some highlights from my time at APL:- Climate TRACE Road Emissions Project Manager and Tech Lead: rapidly prototyped deep learning models to regress emissions from satellite imagery and then scaled these models in a cloud computing environment to inference the entire planet (full-resolution Sentinel-2 imagery) in one week- Displaced Population Estimation Project Manager and Tech Lead- IARPA Functional Map of the World Project Manager and Tech Lead: created the ImageNet of satellite imagery- JAIC Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief Researcher- DARPA Lifelong Learning Machines Researcher- Researcher supporting computer vision algorithms for a retinal prosthesis- Leading or supporting multiple internal grants covering computer vision research from GANs to drone-based SLAM and object detection- Developed patented medical imaging technology to support JHMI- Authored and/or supported proposals to NGA, NRO, NASA, DARPA, IARPA, NIH, and CDC- Presented and demoed cutting-edge AI research to top leaders in government and industry (ODNI, USBP, Navy, CMS, HHS, CDC, IOM, UNHCR, WHO, IRC, Harris, IBM, JHU Board, and others)- Mentoring and motivating colleagues to help keep our group innovative and informed of the latest AI/ML/CV research

Testing and evaluating submissions to the 2009 Semantic Robot Vision Challenge as well as developing a multi-view object recognition system using SIFT, ROS, and ERRATIC mobile robots.
