Ryan back-stopped Team Canada to a Gold Medal, the first ever at that tournament where he pitched a 3-0 shut-out in the gold medal game against Slovakia (Jaroslav Halak) and was named best goalie of the tournament.That Team Canada was the first to ever win the Gold Medal at that tournament which has been memorialized by taking Ryan's stick and hockey socks into the Hockey Hall of Fame.His talent and skills then caught the eye of the NHL scouts and in 2003 he was selected in the 3rd round of the NHL draft by the LA Kings (4th goalie selected overall behind Marc-Andre Fleury, Corey Crawford, and Jimmy Howard).Ryan had a multi-year career in pro hockey playing in leagues including the ECHL, AHL, CHL and Italy before shifting his passion to sharing his knowledge with aspiring goalies looking to take their game to the next level. In his ten solid years of teaching his clients have included NHL, CHL & OHL stars and elite level goalies.
