About Ryan Murphy

Having over 15 years of experience working with children and families I am proud to call myself a Social Worker. I am always seeking individuals committed to building strong teams and dedicated to protecting the most vulnerable in our society. Born in the United States I pursued my passion of helping people develop to be their best selves by entering into the helping fields. After obtaining my degree in psychology I choose to move from the city to a rural area and began my professional career of support with adult males with substance misuse issues and histories of offending behaviors. I went to working in a secure group home helping treat young emotionally troubled children and working to support their families. I returned to gain my Masters in Social Work and increase my therapeutic knowledge. Having completed my degree I set off to the United Kingdom to work within Child Protective Services. For the past twelve years I have worked within Local Authorities in safeguarding teams. Initially undertaking investigations and moving to management positions until reaching my current position of managing an area of the county’s Looked After Children and Child Protection Teams; with a brief period on return to the USA to help support a sick family member at which time I continued my career development working within Child Protective Services in Florida.My posts have taken me from inner city working within the most diverse communities in the country to a rural county. This has provided me with many opportunities to work with children and families of every culture and socio-economic background.I have continued to demonstrate leadership and productivity over a period of years by ensuring the safety of all children within my service, remaining child focused and compassionate to familial difficulties, raising staff satisfaction, staff permanence, and ensuring staff hit key performance indicators.
