After seven years of working in education, in both K-12 , Higher Ed and adult learning, I decided to pursue what has now become my full-time passion: Software Development. Over the past year I have upskilled myself, teaching myself fundamentals of programming and then enrolling in the Coding Dojo bootcamp. During this time I've become proficient in Flask, and Django frameworks, as well as gaining a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms. Most importantly I learned to think like a programmer: taking massive projects and breaking them down systematically into smaller parts, learning how to troubleshoot through different bugs and errors messages, and finally optimizing code for peak performance. Aside from my technical skills, my time as teacher has equipped me with an immense set of soft skills. Teachers balance a large bandwidth of responsibilities, requiring them to employ a wide range of skills. I have a very high EQ as I've had to be an effective to communicator to parents and students, using empathy and compassion to find needs and clarify concerns. Management and organization, are among other skills I have developed. I am a highly goal oriented individual with a history of collaborating well with others and a devoted life-long learner. My interests in tech are vast from fintech to blockchain. I'm thrilled with the opportunities this field provides.
