About Ryan Jiang
As a fourth-year undergraduate at Boston College pursuing a B.A. in Economics, I am deeply passionate about the intersections of macroeconomics, political economy, and economic development. My academic journey has taken me from the vibrant campus of Boston College to the esteemed halls of Oxford, providing a unique blend of global perspectives. Notable highlights include contributing to cutting-edge research at Stanford University's US-Asia Technology Management Center, where I delved into the dynamic realm of technology and its impact on global economies.Beyond academia, I had the privilege of representing the voice of the next generation as a climate speaker at Oslo Innovation Week 2022. In 2023, I was invited as a member of Hatch, a select group of changemakers and thought leaders, as a Next-Generation ambassador. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to addressing complex issues at the intersection of economics and sustainability. As a fourth-year student, this year I am writing a senior honors thesis, and have the privilege of being under the guidance of Professor Can Erbil of Boston College. Building on my previous experiences investigating innovation, sustainability, and international economics, I am researching the effects of Artificial Intelligence on developing economies. As someone who grew up in Silicon Valley, AI has always been something I have been interested in, but my experiences over the last few years have taught me that it is not enough to simply innovate, but that these innovations must also be managed in a way that creates the greatest potential for positive change. As the end of my four years at Boston College approaches, I am currently looking for post-grad job opportunities in areas such as economics research assistance, sustainability, financial analysis, policy, development, or related fields. I am excited about the prospect of contributing to innovative projects and gaining hands-on experience in these dynamic areas. Let's connect and explore potential opportunities together. Connect with me to be part of this journey!
