I am currently a Field QC Tech for Ohmstede . I have learned a lot working with multiple supervisors in the field. I am also very familiar with NDT inspections. I am a Level II inspector in VT ( Visual Testing), PT( Penetrate Testing), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), UT ( Ultasonic testing) and a Level I in RT(Radiographic Testing). I have been in the inspection since late 2008 and I love my job. This field is very interesting to me and I have grown to learn quick on jobs and turn around a good project at the end.

Field Qa/Qc Inspector
Piping QC on a 6 week turn around for Marathon. Job duties were to VT welds 100% and check NDT requirements on each lot, weld track, verify hydros, red-lining piping iso, turnover documentation, walk down and sign off completed packages. I worked hand and foot with a Marathon Quality Representative to ensure the job was done correctly according to code and Marathon expectations.

-QA/QC Inspector- Performed VT, PT, UTT as an inspector of the plant mill. All these inspections were performed under 5L, RP 5L1 and 5LW, API 2W, ASTM E9, E112, A370, A578 guidelines. We inspected the gas pipe as it was formed before the welders (Formation). We visually inspected (VT) the weld after the welders and looked for weld repairs, and circled defects in the pipe and cut outs (Weld Inspection Bench). Then after that bench you decided if the repair was repairable or sent to be cut (Weld Repair). We checked wall thickness (UTT) on every grind in the pipe. Then worked (Final Bench) which is where most of the inspection is made going by all the guidelines above. We also took care of all the Penetrant Test (PT). We checked to see if the welders had got the discontinuity out of the weld. We also did End Lams on every pipe that went out the door as a good pipe.

Visual Inspected BHA tools to standards. Also sizing out the connection to make sure that the tolerance level was accepted before going down hole. The inspection also consisted of MT and PT inspections.

Visual inspections, dimension control, film interpretation, and hydro-static expander monitoring, were performed during the fabrication of numerous sizes of piping etc., ID and OD coating inspection as well as quality weld. Report elaboration, documentation and drawing revision and calibration monitoring over all equipment. All these inspections were performed under API 5L, ASME, AWS and NACE guidelines and references. All fabrication and inspections of this project took place at Dura-Bond, Steelton, PA

Inspections performed on site at Hovensa Oil Refinery including turnarounds at the FCC, 5 Crude, 4 Crude and various other units.
