• Implemented a Price/Volume/Mix variance analysis to measure the true changes in Charges/Payments/WRVU. This approach allows the department to understand that changes in these measures have more than one impact and breaks those changes out in to the three main drivers of change and quantifies each of them to give a truer picture.• Built all Fee Schedules for the Professional services performed at University of Utah Hospitals, totaling over one Billion in charges. This included pricing all new codes, payer analysis, and measuring the self-pay impact to patients. • Responsible for identifying, communicating, and designing an action plan, negative Self-Pay financial and charity adjustment trends by building financial reports to identify low payments negatively impacting department revenue. In addition, I identified and recommended a workflow change to a patient charity adjustment that caused millions of dollars to be written off incorrectly. My attention to detail and analytic review resulted in a Self-Pay payment collection increase greater than five million dollars annually• To address limitations with the Epic data structure, I designed a transactional level dimensionalized data model to allow for faster, more consistent, and more accurate reporting.
